Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing a small team of technology transfer professionals
- Management of a growing portfolio of technologies
- Identification and protection of IP
- Driving commercialization of IP through licensing and creation of spin-off companies
- Supporting collaborative research with industry, and assisting researchers in securing funding to advance research results in a commercial direction
- Promoting awareness of IP and providing IP training to researchers
- Collaborating with the University departments to disseminate information about promising technologies and successes in technology transfer
- Developing and implementing relevant strategy and policy at a University-wide level
- Advising the University management on all aspects of IP and technology transfer
Qualifications, Experience and Personal Qualities:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a technology transfer role in academia or in a related function in industry
- Minimum a Master's degree in Economics and Administrative Sciences / Engineering or a related field
- Having previously worked in national and international projects such as TÜBİTAK, KOSGEB, Development Agency and European Union
- In-depth knowledge of IP; ideally experience in managing complex IP issues
- Hands-on involvement in legal matters related to research and technology transfer, including negotiation and management of technology license agreements
- Having high-level leadership skills, advanced communication, presentation, and negotiation skills,
- Team player; client-oriented with good interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong project management knowledge with the ability to handle multiple complex tasks and projects at the same time
- Mastering the technology transfer life cycle, including the ability to drive large-scale research programs towards commercialization goals
