LABORATORY SUPERVISOR

TAYRAŞ Base Oil Refinery has an investment cost of 32.4 million $ with a capacity of 60.000 ton/annum WLO processing capacity. The refinery will be established on the company’s 86.000 sqm land in Bilecik. Refinery will be one of the biggest and high technology and environmentally friendly refinery when it starts production. The final product of the Refinery will be high value-added Group II+ Base oil.

We are looking for Chemist / Laboratory Technician who will establish the laboratory of TAYRAŞ Refinery inOsmaneli / Bilecik. 

REQUIREMENTS of the Position

• University degree in Chemistry/Chemical engineering department

• Minimum 5 years professional experience at laboratory, preferably in petrol or industrial lubricants business and/or related chemical industry

• Excellent command of English and Turkish both written and spoken

• Preferably good knowledge of the Quality and Laboratory Management Systems, ISO 17025 Standard, and other relevant international standards

• Good technical skills, analytical thinking and creative solving of technical problems

• Excellent communication, planning and organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to accurately and concisely report test work

• Knowledge of safety techniques, terminology and technology related to laboratory protocols and general laboratory procedures

• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team and result oriented

• Professional use of Microsoft applications

• Must have strong communication skills to develop close partnerships with Business Units (BU's) and work on a multi-disciplinary team. Must be proficient in working on multiple teams and projects.
  

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Position

• To set up a laboratory management system and to manage laboratory equipment procurement

• Developing, designing and/or applying new laboratory instrumentation, automated test systems, test fixtures needed for laboratory testing or in support of upgrading the laboratory infrastructure. Make the installation, testing and validation of the new and/or revised instrumentation

• Designing new laboratory measurements, interpret and apply laboratory data to solve production and laboratory problems

• Follow up the Technical Service issues at Laboratory.

• Providing systematic solutions for technical problems transmitted by Refinery Management.

• Organizing the Laboratory Management System activities

• Supporting the sites in the implementation of improvement plans

• Understanding of technical requirements and adaptation of these requirements to the system
